Sunlight & gelato, across the winged-lion’s throne that is St. Marks of Venice.
This is one of my first on-site pieces created in 2018 during my very first trip to Italy with my mom. We claimed a tiny outdoors café table in Piazza San Marco under a giant umbrella shade, got a gelato banana split, and sat facing the basilica while the sun made everything glow. This marks my attempt to catch those ornate facades and the domes stretching into that impossibly blue Venetian sky.
This print is like holding a sunny minute from that day: the warm light, the creaminess of the gelato, the happy hum of the piazza.
